TMDHosting Are Scammers

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Now writing reviews about companies is really not my style, but when a company like TMD Hosting scam an innocent person like me that just wants to host their sites, then something needs to be said.

The grounds I say this is as follows, we were hosting a few Wordpress MU installs with them and then they reached 300 blogs which is in truth not alot. This was on the shared hosting account that we had with them, so they suspended an unlimited package then said we need to upgrade to a VPS to handle the wordpress MU sites. So we upgrade to a VPS at $80 per month.

A calendar month later they determine to again freeze the VPS and now say we must upgrade to a dedicated server. Enough is enough these are basic wordpress MU sites with only 300 blogs. So we just told them to shut the sites down and give back our left over money because we paid for 3 months upfront on theirrecommendationthat the VPS was the worthy option. They then said that they would not refund the remaining money because we used to much resources, when it was them that recommended the VPS in the first place only a month ago.

So we have basically been left out of pocket by TMD Hosting and lost the sites that we were building up for over a year and they do not have a care in the world about it. They always try to make out that the user is in the wrong even though we pay our hosting fees monthly without a problem.

I know that hosting companies do tend to lie about their packages selling unlimited etc, but TMD Hosting totally go past that and cut the site off even when hardly nothing is being used. This hosting company really does not care about anything except money and I would warn anyone who is going to host with them to think again big time, they may promise you all theseextravagantpackages but when it comes down to it they will cut you off and keep your money unless you upgrade.

Pretty much anyone can put together a website. There are lots of internet based hosting providers who are willing to let you have space on their servers if you agree to use their company name in your url. Think about that. Companyname.theirchosenname.com is a pretty common url these days isn’t it? Of course, if you are serious about your website and your online endeavor, you will want to buy your own web hosting. You keep your options open when you buy your own hosting. Each hosting company is different! Choose your hosting company and hosting package very carefully! Here are some ways to make your choice easier.

What kind of e-mail needs do you have? If you plan on doing e-mail marketing, you will need hosting that offers you services like automatic responders and list building options. For people who will be having lots of people contribute to their project, being able to offer those contributors their own, specific to the project, personalized e-mail address is a major perk. This means that you need to choose a hosting plan that will provide you with enough e-mail capability that giving out a bunch of e-mail addresses is not a problem. Pay attention to the e-mail options with each of your hosting options and choose the host that best meets your needs. Explore the customer service options.A good company that is worth trusting will have a phone number that you can use to talk to live customer service operators. Investigate the customer service levels by calling the customer service number listed on the company website. If the customer service agents are good they will be able to help you solve your problem, no matter what kind of problem you ask them about. If you are simply transferred from one person to another until you give up, you should choose a company with better customer service. It is possible that an agent has a bad day so call back a couple of times to make sure that this was not the case on your first attempt if that call went badly. Live chat is also an option that many companies offer. This is a great option to look for if you are a web developer who hates to talk on the phone. If the only way of getting help with a problem is by consulting a FAQ page or chat bot, you should move on to the other companies that you are considering.

Do you know what kind of control panel you want? If you’re new to site building and web development, you’ll want to find a control panel that is easy to use and understand and that will allow you to install things with just a few mouse clicks. If you’re an experienced web developer you’ll be free to find hosting with control panels that aren’t quite as “user proof.” The type of control panel you will need will help you choose the web host that best serves your needs. Control panels for newbies are usually more expensive because they include things like one click installation software, content management system installation, etc. It is a rule of thumb that the easier it is to use your hosting, the more it is going to cost. Many specific hosting criteria will vary depending on the person who is doing the building and the hosting provider that is chosen to help with the project. Take some extra time to explore all of your options. This is another way of saying that you should go slowly and thoroughly plan your project before you start exploring your options. It is easy to find proper hosting when you take the time you need to plan your project before you start looking at different hosting plans.Making money online is like this online income flood page.

The Importance Of Customer Service When Picking A Web Hosting Package

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

There are many things that most of us look at when choosing a web hosting package such as the price, the amount of storage space and how much bandwidth we will be provided with. But one thing that many people do not take the time to check out is whether or not there is a good customer service support team in place. This really is important because failure to have this could mean big problems for your site in the future and a loss of business if you are an ecommerce website. You may find that you will be better off paying a bit more if you can be sure that you are going to be provided with a good customer support service.

What Makes Good Customer Service So Important

Nearly all of us will develop problems at some stage with our websites. The larger the website we own the more that can go wrong with it. When problems start to develop we need assistance in a hurry and we want to be able to talk to our web hosting company right away. Because problems with websites can happen at any time, it is important that a web host is contactable all the time; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you can get things sorted out straight away it can mean that instead of your website being offline for days, it might only be down for a minute or two.

Even if a site is offline for only a few hours, it can mean lost revenue for the website owner. If this happens and you can’t get anyone at your web hosting it can be extremely frustrating. It may also be the case that if a web hosting service is lacking in customer service they might also be lacking elsewhere as well. In the past people have lost all their website data with no backup and no way to contact the web host; a nightmare scenario. Choose a good web host and this type of thing won’t happen.

Anybody thinking about venturing into internet marketing should have web hosting sorted out. The web hosting world can be a confusing one though for a newbie. An example of this could be coming across free web hosting or even dedicated servers on your travels.
