Review of cPanelHosting

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

So many new websites are gracing the World Wide Web thanks to many free web hosting solutions and website builders available. While these solutions are decent for hosting personal sites, people who are hoping to set up forum solutions, blogs, e-commerce websites, and any sites that are expecting high traffic need to go for a more powerful solution where the hosted servers have better specifications. Such solutions can be a bit tough to use, but not in case of cPanel which aims to facilitate creating and managing powerful websites.

What Is cPanelHosting

At first glance cPanelHosting seems a typical hosting provider because of its attractive .95 monthly cost. But cPanelHosting does more by offering a wide range of web hosting services which are orbiting the cPanel and Fantastico interface. The four primary plans on offer include the shared hosting, business web hosting, virtual private server hosting, and reseller hosting.

Pros

The shared hosting services offered by cPanelHosting already prove it is all about convenience and getting more for less. Known as the Premium Web Hosting package, the shared plan offers no limits to how much can be stored in the server, no bandwidth limitations, unlimited e-mail account creations, unrestricted MySQL databases, and unlimited domain support for that single account. The package is coated with a cPanel interface which allows for applying many web host management customization options and the Fantastico script library which makes it very easy for web applications to be installed including popular forum solutions, shopping cart software, content management system setup, wiki pages, blogs, and many others.

With business solutions you don’t get unlimited storage, but they have more useful features like daily backups and much faster performance. The Enterprise solution, which is a higher-end version of the business solution, offers more storage space and higher server specs. No matter what packege you choose, you get a free domain for life within the annual payment plan.

Reseller hosting offers a little more than other online hosting sites that offer the package. It is similar to the business plan as backups are automatically performed daily, but unlimited FTP accounts may be created and support is a bit better being offered at any time of the day. Like the other packages, three flexible plans are offered to suit different needs. The VPS web hosting provides as well cheaper root access.

One of the great things about cPanelHosting is the possibility of having the entire web design - including layout, coding, and execution - done by their designing team. The cost does not depend on the project size so those who want a professional website will not pay extra for it. Print services are also offered and an unlimited amount of revisions can be made.

Cons

While Fantastico is a popular script library, Plesk is friendlier in user interface and is unfortunately not included. Windows Server support appears to be lacking too.

With these cons aside, cPanelHosting is an excellent choice for beginners with its great support and affordable shared web hosting offer.

Finding a gifted webhost for your internet based business is an crucial piece to the puzzle. These are the people that have control of your server space, web services and file maintenance, so you want to make sure you are protected.

Here are 5 things to look for in a promising host.

1. Consistency There is nothing more important than reliability when it comes to selecting a web hosting company. There are a number of things that can go wrong within an online business and it is assuring to know that your host is there for you. Prior to selecting a company, take the time to look at the percentage of time their servers are working properly. If the servers tend to be down 15% of the time or more, this shaves off valuable time your business is online.

2. Contact info Part of a web hosting company being reliable is also them being available. If your server goes down, you want to know that you can get a hold of the web hosting company as soon as possible. The best way to check on the support personnel is to call them up prior to agreeing to anything to test them out.

3. Domain name With thousands of businesses on the web and millions of web addresses already taken, it can be difficult coming up with an original domain name. However, every shared hosting company should be able to provide you with one for a reasonable price. Check into the support they give you for finding a quality domain name and the prices each hosting company charges for a domain name.

4. CGI access Depending on the type of business you have, you may want to or need to run your own programs. In order to do this, you must have CGI access. Not every webhost offers this, and not every host offers the same capabilities for their CGI access. When researching into a hosting company, check to make sure they offer CGI access that allows you to read, write, and execute on your server.

5. POP account Having a POP3 account is vital for your business because of the protection that it offers. A POP3 account gives you password-protected access to all email delivered to your inbox.

There are several things you want to look into prior to selecting a shared hosting company. The more questions you can come up with to ask the host and the more good old fashioned research you put into your decision, the better off you will be.
