Dedicated hosting means when a person or company has one server for their own sites, it is not shared. A client availing of a dedicated server can expect bigger bandwidth and disk space quotas and increased security. Reseller hosting basically entails individuals “renting” out their space to others. They basically buy their space on a server and then sell space themselves from that package.
Linux and Windows are the most important hosting platforms. Linux is the choice of professionals. Some of the reasons for this include the fact that it is open-source, and therefore free, and is usually considered the more secure.
